Blueberry May Have Positive Effects on Liver Function~!



A recent study shows that blueberries may have a protective and preventative effect on liver disease. According to study results, blueberry has a prohibitive effect on the proliferation of cells that are implicated in liver fibrosis. The study suggests that these effects may be mediated through HO-1 and the Nrf2 antioxidant system.

Several studies have demonstrated that berries have anti-inflammatory as well as, other health benefits in addition to their nutritive value. The true nature of these depends on the berry because individually they may exert their effects by raising antioxidant levels, reduce cytochrome P450 activity and alter levels of other enzymes.
